Accolades
All from Sonoma County, the 2018 Chardonnay spent 15 months in neutral barrels. Its light gold hue is followed by beautiful melon and stone fruits as well as notes of brioche, white flowers, and honeysuckle. With a subtle kiss of oak, beautiful richness, medium body, and great finish, it’s another stunning value from this label to enjoy over the coming year or two – Wine Spectator 91 points
The 2018 Chardonnay has restrained aromas of apples, pears and lemon pith with touches of hay and yogurt. The palate offers more, with peachy fruit and juicy freshness, finishing lifted – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Tangy lime peel, honeysuckle and a flash of pineapple show on the nose of this bottling. The palate zings with acidity yet also offers riper flavours of candied lemon cream and white fleshed fruits – Wine Enthusiast 89 points
Winemakers Note
The fruit for our Chardonnay is grown in vineyards between the Russian River and the Sonoma Coast. The coastal influence provides the right balance of acidity, texture, softness, and length. Fruit is harvested by hand at night and is immediately taken to the winery for gentle pressing. The juice is transferred to both neutral barrels and new barrels after settling overnight to start its fermentation. The wine is then aged in neutral barrels and stainless steel tanks for 11 months before going to bottle.
